    When television was first commercialized in the late 1930s, a lifetime ago, it had a choice - to improve humanity or turn the population into dimwits. TV’s choice has been clear.

No other technology could claim to do so much for the deliberate stupefaction and dumbing down of humanity. TV has made the impulses of the lowest common denominator king. No other industry deliberately feeds ignorance. That’s why it is the honor of the Academy Recognizing Stupidity Everywhere to present the Television Industry with The Lifetime Achievement Award for Stupidity.
